A Traditional Ayurvedic Nasal Oil of Sesame, Gotu Kola & Eucalyptus
Nasya Oil is a nourishing nasal oil made for Nasya, the Ayurvedic practice of oiling the nostrils. Sesame and sunflower oils are infused with gotu kola, fennel, sweet flag and skullcap, and finished with eucalyptus and a trace of Himalayan rock salt.
The Herbs
Nasya Oil brings together three groups of ingredients traditionally used for the nose. Nourishing oils moisturise the nasal lining and help form a fine protective layer. Aromatic ingredients support healthy mucus balance and comfortable airflow. Soothing herbs comfort delicate tissues. Together they make an oil for clear, comfortable breathing through dry air, pollen and seasonal change.
To Nourish
Sesame Oil (Sesamum indicum): Valued in Ayurveda for its warming, grounding qualities, and long used to nourish dry, delicate tissues.
Sunflower Oil (Helianthus annuus): Rich in essential fatty acids, used to moisturise, soften and protect the delicate lining of the nose.
To Clear
Eucalyptus Essential Oil (Eucalyptus smithii): Traditionally valued for encouraging clear, comfortable breathing.
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare): Traditionally used to support healthy mucus balance and comfortable airflow through the nose.
Himalayan Rock Salt: A traditional mineral that supports moisture balance and comfortable nasal passages.
To Soothe
Sweet Flag Root (Acorus calamus): Traditionally used to comfort delicate nasal tissues and keep the nasal lining well lubricated.
Skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora): Traditionally used to soothe delicate upper respiratory tissues through seasonal challenges.
Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica): A traditional tonic that supports healthy local circulation and a refreshing sense of clarity.
Why a Nasal Oil?
Where a saline rinse washes the nose, a herbal nasal oil nourishes it. Nasya Oil moisturises the nasal lining and helps form a fine protective layer that holds in moisture and helps keep airborne particles away from the tissues.

Nasya is a traditional Ayurvedic practice of applying prepared herbal oils to the nasal passages. It is described in the classical Ayurvedic texts and remains part of daily self-care across India. This oil is formulated for that practice.
Nasya Oil has been expertly formulated by our Medical Herbalists to nourish the delicate nasal passages, support the natural protective barrier of the nasal lining, and encourage clear, comfortable breathing. It is particularly suited to periods of seasonal environmental challenge, dry indoor heating, air conditioning and nasal dryness as part of a daily self-care routine.
Most people use the simpler method: one or two drops onto a clean fingertip, smoothed around the inner rims of the nostrils. That is all it takes, and it suits anyone who finds the traditional drop method uncomfortable.
Yes. Sesame oil is one of the two base oils, so this product is not suitable if you have a sesame allergy. Sesame is a declarable allergen and worth checking before you buy.
A saline rinse washes the nasal passages; this oil conditions them. Many people use a rinse first and apply the oil afterwards. They do different jobs rather than replacing one another.
Yes. Our Nasya Oil is crafted exclusively from natural botanical oils, herbal extracts and mineral ingredients. It is free from synthetic preservatives, artificial fragrances and mineral oils, allowing the carefully selected botanicals to remain the focus of the formulation.
Many people notice a refreshing sensation of comfortable breathing shortly after application due to the naturally aromatic botanicals within the formulation. For periods of seasonal dryness or environmental challenge, we recommend consistent daily application over two to three weeks to allow the botanical oils to support the delicate nasal tissues as part of your regular nasal care routine.
Nasya Oil is suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over. It is not recommended for children under 12 years of age. If you are looking for botanical support for a younger child, we recommend speaking with one of our Medical Herbalists for personalised advice.
Many people do. Apply it to the scalp rather than the lengths, leave it on, and wash out. If a scalp problem persists, see your doctor or a pharmacist rather than treating it at home.
