Family Herbal Cough Syrup is a gentle, alcohol-free syrup for dry, tickly throats and chesty seasons, for adults and children aged two and over. Marshmallow root, sweet liquorice and thyme are prepared in a smooth base of vegetable glycerine and water, with a naturally sweet taste that children take easily.
The Herbs
Family Herbal Cough Syrup brings together two groups of herbs traditionally used for the throat and chest. Mucilage-rich roots coat and soothe dry, sensitive tissues. An aromatic herb supports clear breathing and the natural clearance of mucus. Together they make a syrup for everyday throat and chest comfort.
To Soothe
Marshmallow Root (Althaea officinalis): Rich in mucilage that forms a smooth, soothing coating over dry, scratchy throats, and traditionally used to support the natural clearance of mucus.
Sweet Liquorice Root (Glycyrrhiza glabra): A classic throat herb that coats delicate tissues, comforts dry, tickly sensations and supports healthy mucous membranes.
To Clear
Thyme Leaf (Thymus vulgaris): A cornerstone of traditional respiratory formulas, used to support clear breathing and help the body clear excess mucus.
Why a Syrup?
A syrup coats the throat as it is swallowed, so the soothing herbs stay where they are needed. The base of vegetable glycerine and water gives a smooth, naturally sweet taste that suits adults and children alike.

To Take: Shake well. Take directly from the pipette or in a little warm water, ideally after food.
Adults & Children (12 years and over): 10 - 15ml (approximately 2 - 3 teaspoons), up to three times a day.
Children (6 - 12 years): 2.5ml (approximately half a teaspoon), up to three times a day.
Children (2 - 5 years): 20 drops (approximately 1ml using the pipette), up to three times a day.
