A Monthly Herbal Tincture of Cramp Bark, Raspberry Leaf & Ginger
Menstrual Support Tincture is a concentrated herbal tincture for the days before and during a period. Cramp bark, raspberry leaf and rose are blended with skullcap, lemon balm, chamomile, ginger and nettle, made as a whole-herb liquid extract.
The Herbs
Menstrual Support Tincture brings together three groups of herbs traditionally used through the monthly cycle. Womb herbs relax cramping muscles and support healthy pelvic circulation. Calming herbs ease the tension and mood changes of the cycle. A mineral-rich herb replenishes what is lost. Together they make a blend for greater comfort in the days before and during a period.
For the Womb
Cramp Bark (Viburnum opulus): A traditional remedy used to relax the smooth muscles of the womb, easing the intensity of the contractions behind period cramps.
Raspberry Leaf (Rubus idaeus): A traditional womb tonic, whose tannins help tone the uterine wall and manage heavy flow.
Rose (Rosa damascena): Traditionally used to support healthy pelvic circulation and soothe cramping, while helping with period-related stress and mood swings.
Ginger (Zingiber officinale): A warming circulatory herb that supports healthy blood flow, easing pelvic congestion and inflammatory discomfort.
For Calm and Mood
Skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora): Traditionally used to nourish the nervous system, easing tension, agitation and the mood shifts of the cycle.
Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) & Chamomile (Matricaria recutita): A complementary pair that soothes digestion, eases tension headaches, lifts the mood and calms period-related anxiety.
To Replenish
Nettle Leaf (Urtica dioica): Naturally rich in iron, magnesium and calcium, traditionally used to replenish minerals during menstruation.
Why a Tincture?
Unlike tablets or capsules, a liquid tincture delivers whole-herb extracts in a form that is readily absorbed and easy to fit into a daily routine.
Each batch of Menstrual Support Tincture is made by slowly extracting the whole herbs, drawing out and preserving a broad spectrum of their natural compounds, including volatile oils and phytonutrients. The finished tincture captures the full character of each plant.

Cramp bark (Viburnum opulus) is the guelder rose of British hedgerows. The bark is the part used, and it has carried that common name in herbal practice for centuries because of what it was traditionally taken for.
No, and it is worth being clear about it. Rosehip oil contains carotenoids, which are precursors, not retinoic acid, and it does not work the way a prescription retinoid or a cosmetic retinol does. It is a botanical oil used for the look and feel of the skin, and anyone wanting retinoid results should speak to a dermatologist.
It is an expertly formulated blend of herbs designed to help ease period cramps, cycle-related tension, and support overall menstrual comfort.
The tea is the gentler daily version with the same core herbs. The balm is applied to the lower abdomen rather than taken internally. The tincture acts fastest of the three. Many people use all three at different points in the month.
Period cramps can vary in severity and have different underlying causes. Herbs such as Cramp Bark, Ginger, and Chamomile are traditionally used to help relax the smooth muscles of the uterus and support the body's natural response to inflammatory discomfort during menstruation.
Herbs such as Raspberry Leaf have traditionally been used to support women's reproductive health and hormonal balance. If you are experiencing an irregular menstrual cycle, we recommend booking a consultation with one of our Medical Herbalists for personalised clinical advice.
No. Raspberry leaf and several other botanicals in this formula are not suitable in pregnancy. Raspberry leaf is sometimes used in late pregnancy under professional supervision, but not in this formula and not without advice from your midwife.
Please consult your GP or contact our Medical Herbalists at info@zenmaitri.com before use if you are taking any prescription medication.
Tinctures are generally absorbed faster than other herbal preparations (such as teas, powders, or capsules) because the herbs are already in a liquid, easily-absorbed form. However, like all forms of herbal medicine, they are not a quick fix. For best results, we recommend taking our tinctures consistently, ideally daily, for at least a week to experience their full benefits.
