A Warming Herbal Tea of Ginger, Turmeric & Meadowsweet

Joint & Muscle Tea is a caffeine-free, loose-leaf herbal tea for active days, best taken after a meal or after exercise. Ginger and turmeric, staples of Ayurvedic cooking for centuries, are blended with meadowsweet, nettle leaf, cinnamon and Solomon's seal. Whole roots and bark are used throughout, and each serving can be steeped twice.

The Herbs

Meadowsweet: traditionally been used to relieve aches and discomfort in the musculoskeletal system.

Turmeric: well known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions.

Ginger: introduces comforting warmth, acting alongside Cinnamon to support peripheral circulation, ensuring oxygen and nutrients reach the tissues efficiently.

Nettle Leaf: provides a rich profile of essential minerals while acting as a gentle diuretic to support the clearance of metabolic byproducts from the joints.

Solomon’s Seal: supports healthy connective tissues, helping to maintain the natural integrity of overstretched ligaments and supporting tissue recovery.

Taste Profile: Warm and clean, led by ginger and cinnamon, with an earthy depth from turmeric and a soft, honeyed sweetness from meadowsweet.

Weight: 125g loose leaf (makes approximately 30 to 45 cups)

Format: Loose leaf, for a teapot or infuser

Caffeine: Caffeine-free

Additives: No added flavourings, colourings or preservatives

Ginger Root (Zingiber officinale), Turmeric Root (Curcuma longa), Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria), Nettle Leaf (Urtica dioica), Cinnamon Bark (Cinnamomum verum), Solomon’s Seal Root (Polygonatum multiflorum).

Our Joint & Muscle Tea is designed to be easily integrated into your active daily schedule:

The Infusion Method: Add 1 teaspoon of the loose herbs into a teapot or an infuser cup. Pour freshly boiled water directly over the blend. Cover immediately and let the herbs steep for 10 - 15 minutes. Strain, allow to cool to a comfortable drinking temperature, and enjoy.

Bonus Infusion: You can infuse the same serving of herbs a second time with boiling water to enjoy a subsequent cup later in the day.

When to Drink: Enjoy 1 - 2 cups per day. For optimal results, drink in the morning after breakfast, in the afternoon after lunch, or directly following strenuous physical activity to support muscle recovery.

An Active Day Ritual

Warm Up First: A few minutes of gentle movement before a walk, run or training session.

Optimise Fluid Intake: Drink 2 to 3 litres of filtered water daily. Proper hydration supports the normal composition and function of synovial fluid, the natural lubricant within your joint capsules, and assists the kidneys in flushing out metabolic waste products.

Adopt a Nutrient-Dense Diet: Focus on whole foods, including organic fresh leafy greens, brassicas, berries, and diverse vegetables rich in natural antioxidants and incorporate plant-based Omega-3 fatty acids.

Protect Vulnerable Joints: Use supportive, properly fitted footwear designed for your specific activities.

Avoid Repetitive Strain: Vary your exercise selections and daily movement patterns to prevent stress on the same joints day after day.

Prioritise Rest & Repair: Strive for 7 to 9 hours of quality sleep each night to allow for optimal recovery.

Warming teas built on ginger and turmeric are the traditional choice for stiffness, particularly where it is worse first thing in the morning. Joint & Muscle Tea combines both with meadowsweet, nettle,
cinnamon and Solomon’s seal root.

Solomon’s seal (Polygonatum multiflorum) is a woodland plant with arching stems and hanging white bells. Its root has a long association with the joints and tendons in both European and Chinese herbal practice, and it is the herb that distinguishes this blend.

This functional herbal infusion has been carefully formulated by our Medical Herbalists to support musculoskeletal health and long-term mobility. It brings together traditional botanicals that help modulate underlying inflammation, ease joint stiffness, and support muscle recovery after exertion or physical strain.

The tea is a warming six-herb infusion built on ginger and turmeric. The capsules are a seven-herb formula led by devil’s claw, which is not in the tea. Many people drink the tea through the day and take the capsules daily.

This blend works through three main mechanisms: it helps stimulate peripheral circulation to deliver oxygen and vital nutrients to  tissues; it utilizes herbs used traditionally for their  anti-inflammatory actions, including  meadowsweet and turmeric to calm tissue irritation; and it contains mineral-rich botanicals that support healthy synovial fluid and connective tissue.

Absolutely. This formula is highly beneficial for athletes and regular gym-goers. The warming circulatory stimulants help deliver nutrients to working muscles, while the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds support faster recovery times and help ease post-workout delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS).

The herbs in this blend are well-suited to help ease the impact-related strain and minor joint soreness that runners often experience. If your joint discomfort is persistent or severe, we advise seeking further professional medical advice or scheduling a consultation with our clinical herbal team

We recommend enjoying 1–2 cups daily, ideally in the morning after breakfast or during the afternoon following lunch. If you are working out, drinking a warm cup shortly after your session is a fantastic way to support muscle recovery.

Yes, this is a natural, non-habit-forming botanical blend that can be safely enjoyed as part of your daily wellness routine, up to a maximum of 2–3 cups per day.

If you are currently taking any prescribed medications, we advise consulting a qualified healthcare practitioner or one of our Medical Herbalists before introducing this blend, as certain  botanicals can interact with specific pharmaceuticals. Feel free to contact our team for guidance at info@zenmaitri.com

No, this functional infusion contains botanicals that are not suitable for use during pregnancy or lactation.

One 125g tin contains approximately 30 to 45 servings, depending on your preferred brewing strength. Because these high-quality, botanicals can be steeped twice, you can easily extend the use of each serving.

No, all of our functional infusions are entirely free from synthetic flavourings, colourings, fillers, or chemical preservatives. They consist solely of pure, medicinal-grade botanicals.

While the active botanical compounds remain stable if the tea cools down, our medical herbalists recommend drinking it warm. Warm liquids support healthy digestion and peripheral circulation, assisting with  optimal  delivery of the herbal actions.
