An Aromatic Herbal Tea of Rosemary, Peppermint & Gotu Kola
Focus Tea is a caffeine-free, loose-leaf herbal tea for long days of work or study. Rosemary, the herb of remembrance in English folklore, is blended with peppermint, gotu kola from the Ayurvedic tradition, and ginkgo leaf. Whole leaves are used throughout, and each serving can be steeped twice.
The Herbs
Ginkgo Biloba: traditionally valued as a cognitive protector and brain tonic, supporting blood flow to clear sluggishness and support executive function.
Gotu Kola: an ancient Ayurvedic nerve tonic, valued for its dual ability to support circulation while easing underlying anxiety and stress that can affect concentration.
Rosemary: acts as a circulatory stimulant for the head, supporting alertness and reliable memory recall.
Peppermint: a natural antispasmodic to relax physical tension, open up the senses, and ease daytime fatigue.
Taste Profile: Bright and refreshing, opening with crisp peppermint, moving to a savoury, herbaceous rosemary, with a clean, slightly sweet finish.
Weight: 40g loose leaf (makes approximately 15 to 20 cups)
Format: Loose leaf, for a teapot or infuser
Caffeine: Caffeine-free
Additives: No added flavourings, colourings or preservatives
Ginkgo Biloba Leaf (Ginkgo biloba), Gotu Kola Herb (Centella asiatica), Rosemary Leaf (Rosmarinus officinalis), Peppermint Leaf (Mentha x piperita)
Our Focus Tea fits smoothly into your daily wellness routine:
The Infusion Method: Add 1 teaspoon of the loose herbs into a teapot or an infuser cup. Pour freshly boiled water directly over the blend. Cover immediately and let the herbs steep for 10 - 15 minutes. Strain, let cool to an enjoyable temperature, and enjoy.
Bonus Infusion: You can reuse the same serving of herbs for a second cup later in the day by adding fresh boiling water.
When to Drink: A cup with or after breakfast, and a second cup shortly after lunch to prevent afternoon sluggishness.

Ginkgo biloba and rosemary are the herbs most associated with focus and memory in Western and Chinese practice, and gotu kola is the Ayurvedic equivalent. Focus Tea contains all three with peppermint, and has no caffeine.
It is caffeine-free, so it works differently from coffee — there is no immediate lift and no crash. Many people drink it in the afternoon precisely because it does not interfere with sleep later.
Gotu kola (Centella asiatica) is a small creeping marsh plant used in Ayurveda as one of the medhya rasayana, the herbs named for the intellect. It is also used topically for the skin, which is why it appears in several of our balms.
The tea is a simple four-herb infusion. The capsules are a seven-herb formula adding brahmi, shankhpushpi, frankincense and tulsi, and are the fuller preparation. Many people take the capsules daily and drink the tea at a desk.
Bright, green and sharp, with the resinous note of rosemary and a cool finish from peppermint. It is one of the fresher-tasting teas in the range rather than one of the earthy ones.
This tea has been formulated by our Medical Herbalists to support everyday cognitive health, helping to naturally improve focus, working memory, and concentration while soothing the stress that can disrupt your productivity.
Yes, this blend is ideal for those experiencing everyday brain fog or mental sluggishness. The active oils in rosemary and peppermint help ease feelings of congestion in the head, providing an uplifting, refreshing effect while supporting healthy blood flow.
If you are preparing for a day of intense work or study, we recommend drinking 1 cup with or shortly after breakfast and a second cup after lunch. If you just want general daytime alertness, 1 morning cup is usually sufficient.
While the traditional herbs in this blend offer gentle daily support for alertness and circulation, this tea is a functional food infusion and is not intended to treat or manage specific diagnosed medical conditions. If you have ongoing health concerns, we advise checking with your doctor or contacting our medical herbalists to ensure it fits comfortably within your routine.
If you take any regular prescription medications, particularly blood-thinning therapies, blood pressure treatments, or medications for epilepsy, please check with your doctor or contact our herbalist team at info@zenmaitri.com before use.
Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Ginkgo may not be suitable if you take anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication — speak to your doctor first.
A 40g tin provides approximately 15 - 20 servings, depending on your preferred brewing strength. Because our whole leaves and traditional herbs are highly robust, you can easily brew the same portion of herbs a second time for another cup later in the day.
While the active botanical compounds remain stable if the tea cools down, our medical herbalists recommend drinking it warm. Warm liquids support healthy local circulation and are much gentler on sensitive internal systems, helping you get the most comfort from the herbs.
No nut-based ingredients are used in this recipe. However, because our herbs are handled in facilities that look after a wide variety of botanicals, we cannot absolutely guarantee a completely nut-free environment.
