Female Vitality Capsules are a daily herbal complex formulated by our Medical Herbalists, built around shatavari, the principal women’s tonic of Ayurveda, classed there as a rasayana, one of the rejuvenatives traditionally taken over a course of months rather than days.
Five botanicals make up our Female Vitality supplement. Shatavari anchors the formula; rose and calendula are two of the most established flowers in women’s herbal practice, appearing across Unani, Ayurvedic and European traditions; meadowsweet is the aromatic of the group; and liquorice root is one of the classic harmonising herbs, included across several traditions to bring a formula together.

Rooted in both Ayurvedic and Western herbal practice, Female Vitality brings together botanicals with long traditions of use in women’s herbal care.
Asparagus racemosus (Shatavari): A climbing asparagus relative of the Indian subcontinent and the principal women’s tonic of Ayurveda. It is classed as a rasayana, a rejuvenative tonic taken over a course of months, traditionally in warm milk or ghee, and has been used across the whole span of a woman’s life rather than at a single stage of it.
Rosa damascena (Rose Petal): A cooling plant in both Unani and Ayurvedic practice, traditionally associated with the heart. It takes several thousand hand-picked petals to yield a single millilitre of rose oil, which gives some sense of what the material is worth.
Calendula officinalis (Calendula): The pot marigold, a fixture of monastery gardens across medieval Europe and one of the most widely used flowers in Western herbal practice. Its golden petals turn any oil they sit in a deep gold, that colour is the plant itself rather than any additive.
Glycyrrhiza glabra (Liquorice Root): One of the great harmonising herbs, included across Chinese, Ayurvedic and European formulas to bring the other botanicals together.
Filipendula ulmaria (Meadowsweet): A damp-meadow plant of the British countryside that smells faintly of almond and hay. It holds a genuine place in the history of chemistry: salicin was first isolated from meadowsweet, and the word aspirin derives from Spiraea, its old botanical name.
Shatavari Root (Asparagus racemosus), Calendula Flower (Calendula officinalis), Rose Petal (Rosa damascena), Liquorice Root (Glycyrrhiza glabra), Meadowsweet Herb (Filipendula ulmaria). Capsule Shell: Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (Plant-based, Vegan).
When to Take: Take 2 capsules daily with water, ideally after breakfast.
How Often to Take: Use daily as part of a consistent routine. Tonic herbs are traditionally taken over weeks and months rather than occasionally. One bottle contains 60 capsules, providing a 30-day supply.
Safety & Cautions
Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.
Food supplements must not be used as a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
Not suitable for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Contains liquorice root. Not suitable for anyone with raised blood pressure, and not intended for continuous long-term use. Please speak to one of our Medical Herbalists or your GP if you plan to take it beyond a few months.
Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
To support the daily use of your Female Vitality capsules, our Medical Herbalists recommend the following alongside them.
Daily Foundations
Hydration: Aim for at least two litres of water across the day. Herbal tonics are taken over months, and the ordinary habits alongside them matter as much as the formula.
Protect Your Sleep: Seven to nine hours, at roughly consistent times. Consistency of timing tends to matter more than total hours.
Regular Movement: Keep some form of movement in the week, including something weight-bearing, which supports bone health through every life stage.
Nutritional Support
Eat Across the Colours: Leafy greens, berries, citrus and cruciferous vegetables through the week, for a broad range of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
Iron and Calcium Sources: Pulses, dried fruit, dark leafy greens and fortified foods, which support bone health and are worth attending to through the menstruating years.
Omega-3 Sources: Flaxseed, chia seed, hemp seed, walnuts and oily fish. Whole Grains: Brown rice, oats and quinoa for steadier energy across the day.
Moderate the Refined: Reduce processed foods, added sugars and excessive caffeine where you can.
Supportive Rituals
Grounding Practices: A few minutes of mindful breathing, meditation or gentle movement each day. Tonic herbs sit within a routine rather than replacing one.
Herbal Infusions: A warm infusion between meals complements the capsules. Our Zen Maitri Menstrual Support Tea and Meno-Balance Tea draw on related botanicals.
Female Vitality Capsules are a daily tonic
complex formulated by our Medical Herbalists, built on botanicals with long
traditions of use in women’s herbal care — shatavari, rose, calendula,
liquorice and meadowsweet. They are made for consistent daily use as part of a
routine, in the way tonic herbs are traditionally taken.
Shatavari is Asparagus racemosus, a climbing plant of the Indian subcontinent related to culinary asparagus. The root is the part used, and it is among the most established botanicals in Ayurvedic practice. Its Sanskrit name is usually translated as “she who possesses a hundred husbands”, reflecting the regard in which it has been held.
Rasayana is the Ayurvedic category for rejuvenative tonics — preparations taken steadily over months as part of how you live, rather than reached for at a particular moment. Shatavari and ashwagandha are the two best known. It is why this formula is designed for daily use rather than occasional use.
Two capsules daily with water, ideally after
breakfast. One bottle provides a 30-day supply.
Tonic herbs are traditionally taken over weeks and months rather than days, so consistency matters more than any single dose. This formula contains liquorice root, however, which is not intended for continuous long-term use — please speak to one of our Medical Herbalists or your GP if you plan to take it beyond a few months.
Yes. Botanicals in the tonic tradition are taken cumulatively and consistently, which is the whole basis of how they are used in both Ayurvedic and Western practice.
Please consult one of our Medical Herbalists or your healthcare practitioner before use.
These capsules are not suitable during pregnancy.
Yes, all of our capsules are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Yes, of course, you can absolutely do this and sprinkle it onto your food or just have it stirred into water.
While many of the powders contained in this product are produced using organic practices, they may not all be certified organic. We source only the cleanest and highest quality ingredients from around the world. All of our ingredients undergo rigorous testing to ensure there are no traces of metals in any of them. Moreover, some of our ingredient suppliers are small farmers who do not necessarily have the means or resources to achieve organic accreditation. Yet their produce is organic in nature because they still maintain the highest standards and do not use any pesticides on their farms.
