It is bursting with fragrant herbs and essential oils to help you soak away joint and muscles tension, to promote calm and relaxation and to help you have a more restorative night’s sleep.
Rose petals
Roses are wonderfully aromatic, uplifting and relaxing. They have long been praised for their beauty as well as their medicinal properties. They have calming properties. They are great for times when we feel tense or anxious, and they add a delightful and luxurious aroma to your bath.
Oat straw
Oat straw is nutritive, relaxing and strengthening to the nervous system. It is rich in minerals including calcium, magnesium and silica which are essential to vibrant health and perfect for helping us to dissolve any tension. It is also mildly sedative, so it is a perfect addition to a night-time mix to unwind before bed time.
Lavender
Lavender is a favourite for relaxation. In addition to its wonderfully calming and aromatic fragrance, it’s an anti-inflammatory and healer for irritated skin. It also has sedative properties for aching muscles, joints and headaches.
Magnesium (in Epsom salts)
Magnesium is used by the body in every cell and is needed in order for us to function optimally. It is also essential for strong bones, healthy heart, muscle and brain function and a deficiency can cause low mood and anxiety. Magnesium helps the brain relax by regulating brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) including melatonin and gaba, which are involved with the sleep cycle. In this way, magnesium helps you to achieve deep and restful sleep.
Sulphur (in Epsom salts)
Sulphur is one of the most abundant minerals in the body. A sulphur deficiency can create or aggravate a variety of conditions including arthritis, acne, brittle nails and hair, poor memory, low mood, digestive issues, rashes and poor wound healing. Sulphur also helps us to repair our DNA and to recycle our main antioxidant glutathione which helps to prevent cell damage.
Patchouli essential oil
Patchouli essential oil helps lift the mood and can help to promote a more restful sleep. It also has antiseptic properties useful for skin health: it helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, blemishes and scars.
Rose geranium essential oil
The sweet and floral essential oil of rose geranium is soothing and balancing. It promotes relaxation and groundedness. It benefits both body and mind with its ability to clear up restlessness, tension and grief. It gently cleanses and protects the skin with its antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, preventing any infection, supporting natural skin repair and bringing a radiant glow to the skin.

To amplify the effects of our Night Time Bath Salts, consider the following:
-
Consistent Sleep Routine: Go to bed only when sleepy and aim for a consistent wake-up time. Develop a calming pre-sleep routine to signal to your brain it's time to wind down – such as by dimming your lights and through using the products in our Sleep range!
-
Exercise Mindfully: Engage in regular, moderate exercise, preferably in the late afternoon or early evening. Physical exercise can help tire your body and encourage sleep. However, avoid vigorous exercise right before bedtime.
-
Dietary Considerations: In addition to adopting a balanced diet, make sure to consume tryptophan-rich foods such as bananas, figs, dates, or yoghurt. The amino acid tryptophan helps promote sleep by increasing the levels of both serotonin and melatonin. Avoid large meals before bedtime and caffeine post-afternoon. The amino acid tyramine can act as a stimulant by increasing the release of norepinephrine, so it’s important to also avoid tyramine-rich foods like cheese, chocolate, bacon, tomatoes and wine just before bedtime.
-
Hydration Balance: Drink ample water throughout the day, but limit intake before bedtime to reduce night-time awakenings.
-
Limit Stimulants: Steer clear of nicotine, as it acts as a neurostimulant. If daytime napping is part of your routine, ensure it doesn’t interfere with nighttime sleep.
-
Tech Etiquette: Reduce screen time in the evening, especially blue light from devices. Consider “night mode” settings and keep devices out of the bedroom.
-
Room Ambiance: Ensure your sleep environment is dark, quiet, and cool. Use tools like blackout curtains or white noise machines if needed.
