Our Headease tea has been especially formulated to help soothe tension associated with all types of headaches — whether linked to tension, eye strain, sinus congestion or migraines. It contains herbs known for their ability to improve blood flow to the head and help ease inflammation. It can help to relax the nervous system, ease tension and irritability and promote relaxation. This blend also supports the improvement of other symptoms often associated with headaches such as indigestion, insomnia and foggy-mindedness.
Wood betony
Wood betony is a beautiful woodland herb with an affinity for improving circulation to the head, calming the nervous system whilst enhancing digestion and assuaging dizziness. It is a nerve tonic, meaning it supports the nervous system and eases tension and symptoms associated with stress and anxiety. It also improves memory and concentration. It has strong evidence of traditional use dating back centuries to address migraines, headaches and nerve pain.
Feverfew
Feverfew is very famous in herbal medicine as a remedy for preventing headaches and migraines. It also helps address nausea and vomiting and supports the body to clear out toxins. It enhances liver function and reduces symptoms associated with a sluggish liver, including lethargy, irritability and headaches. It relaxes tension, lifts the spirits and promotes restful sleep.
Vervain
Vervain is an excellent tonic to the nervous system, calming irritability and tension and supporting the body during stress. It is very helpful for stress-related headaches and migraines, indigestion, insomnia and aches and pains. It helps improve memory and concentration and has been used for easing nightmares.
Peppermint
Peppermint has a long tradition of being used to relieve headaches. It is cooling and contains painkilling components. There is a well-established body of scientific evidence demonstrating that peppermint can relieve tension associated with headaches and migraines— whether used externally (e.g. applied to your forehead and temples, as in our Headease balm) or internally, like in this tea. Peppermint also increases blood flow of capillaries in the forehead. It induces muscle relaxation and mental relaxation, supporting improvements in headache intensity. Peppermint is also effective in reducing nausea, muscle tension and nasal congestion (so it is excellent for sinus headaches).
Spearmint
Spearmint has very similar but gentler effects than peppermint (peppermint is in fact a hybrid of spearmint and watermint). It also eases physical and mental tension. It is sweeter in taste, and more cooling and relaxing. It is a lovely complement to the other herbs in this blend to ensure this tea is as delicious as it is effective.
Lemon balm
In addition to tasting deliciously refreshing, lemon balm is a mild sedative and painkiller. By supporting the nervous system, it can help to reduce tension and agitation. It is great to ease tension associated with headaches, migraine and vertigo. It has restorative properties and can be used for tiredness, nervous exhaustion, poor memory and concentration. It also soothes stress-related indigestion.
This product contains wood betony, vervain, peppermint, spearmint, feverfew and lemon balm.

Possible red flags to watch out for: While common, headaches can in some cases signal more complex underlying issues. While most are benign and manageable, it's crucial to stay informed about certain warning signs that could potentially indicate a more severe condition. It’s crucial to seek medical advice from a qualified healthcare professional if your headache:
-
Feels notably different from previous ones or shows a progressive worsening in either frequency or severity.
-
Intensifies with actions like coughing, sneezing, bending over, or abrupt movements, hinting at possible increased intracranial pressure.
-
Is accompanied by other neurological symptoms, such as changes in sensation or vision, sudden weakness, loss of coordination, seizures, difficulty speaking or understanding speech, or alterations in consciousness levels like drowsiness or confusion.
-
Presents systemic symptoms like unexplained weight loss, fever, red eyes with halos seen around lights, or any unusual changes in blood pressure and pulse.
-
Begins after age 50, or is accompanied by other symptoms such as a stiff neck, jaw pain when chewing, or temple tenderness.
Additionally, if you have any medical history of conditions like cancer, immunodeficiency disorders, or are on immunosuppressant medication, it's essential to be extra observant and discuss any headache patterns with your healthcare provider.
