Our Acid Calm Supplements contain a blend of soothing, gut-supporting herbs that bring comfort during episodes of indigestion, acid reflux and other digestive difficulties. These herbal supplements with marshmallow root, chamomile, and meadowsweet cool irritation and inflammation, help to ease spasms, and protect and regenerate the lining of the digestive tract. Marshmallow root provides a protective layer to the digestive tract, calming inflammation and supporting healing. Chamomile addresses stress-related digestive issues and helps alleviate spasms and heartburn. Meadowsweet acts as a natural antacid, promoting digestive comfort without the acidity of conventional remedies.
Marshmallow root
Marshmallow root is one of our go-to herbs for inflammatory gut conditions. It’s particularly supportive in relieving hyperacidity and any inflammatory gut problems such as gastritis, peptic ulcers and ulcerative colitis. Its abundance of mucilage means it is very effective in cooling irritation and inflammation, and in protecting and healing the lining of the digestive tract.
Chamomile
Chamomile is famous for soothing stress-related digestive upsets. It is a wonderfully calming herb for body and mind, and a key ingredient for easing spasms, wind, heartburn, acidity and indigestion. It is mildly sedative and mood enhancing — so it calms nervousness, which are often associated with digestive issues.
Meadowsweet
Meadowsweet contains salicylic acid — the substance from which aspirin was synthesised —, which makes it very helpful to soothe inflammation. However, unlike aspirin, not only does it not risk causing stomach acidity as a side effect, but it is an excellent antacid and healer of the digestive tract. It is indicated for acid indigestion, heartburn, gastritis, peptic ulcers, reflux and other inflammatory conditions of the stomach and bowels.
This product contains marshmallow root, chamomile, meadowsweet, vegetable cellulose (capsule).

To enhance the benefits of our Acid Calm supplements:
-
Dietary Changes: Focus on non-acidic, easily digestible foods. Integrate whole grains, leafy greens, vegetables. Avoid spicy foods, fried foods, acidic fruits, and high-fat meats, which can aggravate acid production.
-
Eat Smaller, Frequent Meals: Instead of three large meals, opt for five to six smaller meals throughout the day. This prevents the stomach from being overly full and reduces the chance of acid reflux.
-
Stay Upright After Eating: After having a meal, try to stay upright for at least 2-3 hours. This prevents acid from moving up into the oesophagus. Avoid lying down immediately after eating.
-
Elevate the Head of Your Bed: If heartburn bothers you at night, try raising the head of your bed a little bit. This can help keep acid in the stomach.
-
Limit Acidic Beverages: Reduce or eliminate the intake of coffee, soda, and alcohol. All of these can contribute to increased stomach acidity.
-
Avoid Tight Clothing: Tight belts or waistbands can compress the stomach, pushing acid into the oesophagus.
-
Limit the Use of NSAIDs: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, like ibuprofen, can irritate the stomach lining. If possible, limit your intake and discuss alternatives with your healthcare provider.
-
Manage Stress: High stress levels can increase stomach acid production. Engage in relaxation techniques like meditation, deep breathing exercises, or gentle yoga to manage stress.
-
Stop Smoking: Smoking can weaken the lower esophageal sphincter, allowing acid to reflux into the oesophagus more easily.
-
Limit Carbonated Beverages: The bubbles from carbonated drinks can put pressure on the stomach, forcing acid up into the oesophagus.
-
Monitor Potential Triggers: Some foods or activities might trigger heartburn for some people and not for others. Maintain a diary to track what might be triggering your symptoms and avoid those triggers.
-
Maintain a Healthy Weight: Extra weight, especially around the abdomen, can put pressure on the stomach, causing acid reflux. A balanced diet and regular exercise can help maintain a healthy weight.
-
Herbal Teas: Consider drinking herbal teas like our Digestion Tea or Mint Tea – or if you don’t have our blends to hand, peppermint or chamomile can also help soothe the oesophagus and stomach lining.
