Need Help Finding The Right Product?

A natural, herbal hair oil such as Zen Maitri’s Hair Oil — combining therapeutic oils, essential oils and herbs — can help strengthen the hair, boost blood flow to the scalp, promote hair growth and enhance volume. It can be especially useful for those struggling with hair loss or dry, damaged hair as a result of colour treatments or straightening. Hair oil can also help to nourish and moisturise your hair, and it can help with frizzy hair.
Nourishing, moisturising natural oils that are well absorbed by the hair and do not leave much of a greasy residue can be very helpful to tame dry, fizzy hair. This includes extra virgin olive oil (naturally moisturising, nutrient-rich, antioxidant and anti-infective), sesame oil (warming, anti-irritation and relaxing), black seed oil (with strong antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, as well as promoting hair growth), jojoba oil (an excellent soothing moisturiser that helps alleviate dandruff and irritation), castor oil (promotes hair growth, repairs dry, damaged hair and dandruff-ridden scalps) and coconut oil (deeply hydrating, improves volume and shine). All of these oils — as well as a host of herbs, essential oils and vitamin E — can be found in our Hair Oil recipe.
We suggest using a nourishing hair oil as part of your weekly haircare routine. The evening before you are due to wash your hair, gently massage the oil onto your scalp and leave it on overnight. The next day you should wash and rinse it thoroughly. You can apply the oil before each time you wash your hair, or before every other wash.

More generally, the time is right for a Herbal Hair Oil if you often apply heat to your hair, if you use colouring or other chemical treatments, or if you regularly swim. For best results, we recommend oiling your hair at least once a week.
There are various oils, essential oils and herbs that have been proven to support better blood flow of capillaries in the scalp, bringing oxygenation and nourishment to the tissues and gently supporting hair nutrition and growth. Many of the ingredients in Zen Maitri’s Hair Oil do, including peppermint and ylang-ylang essential oils, black seed oil, castor oil, horsetail and rosemary.
Our Hair Oil recipe is suitable for all (including for men!) — it works effectively on any type of hair, although it is particularly helpful for dry, thinning hair. Our Hair Oil has a neutral, deep, earthy fragrance of sesame, with refreshing and invigorating tones from rosemary, lemongrass, cypress, ylang ylang and peppermint.
A body oil is a very effective way of deeply moisturising the skin to keep it healthy, soft, soothed, nourished and firm. Zen Maitri’s Body Oils for Her, Him and They/Them contain lots of nourishing, soothing and protective natural ingredients such as coconut oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E and carefully chosen essential oils to moisturise, refresh and calm the skin. They are very versatile — you can apply them from head to toe as and when required, for instance as an after-shower moisturising oil or a bath oil. Body oils help form a film on the surface of the skin that prevents it from drying out, and limits the impact of external aggressions linked to sun and pollution.
You can use body oil on dry skin but it is more pleasant to use it on your skin after a warm bath or shower, so that your pores are more open and the blend can more effectively do its magic without leaving too much of an oily residue on the skin.
The best body oil for skin after a shower has to be a natural, minimally processed oil with carefully chosen plant-based ingredients. We would say they are the best after-shower body oils!
We recommend applying body oils while the skin is still damp or wet, after a warm shower or bath. This means that your pores are more open — enabling the blend to more effectively do its magic. It also reduces any oily residue on the skin.
To nourish and soothe dry skin on your legs, apply a nourishing body oil (such as our Body Oils for Her, Him and They/Them) after every shower or bath, while your legs are still damp and warm. If your concern persists, consult a dermatologist and/or a medical herbalist.
A natural, herbal body oil can be perfectly safe during pregnancy — but it is important to choose one that does not contain any oils, herbs, essential oils or other ingredients that are contraindicated during pregnancy. Our Pregnancy Bath and Body Oil has been carefully developed to safely nourish and protect the skin of mum-to-be. This soothing blend of rose geranium, Roman chamomile and lavender support the skin's natural elasticity and help to prevent stretch marks. It has a gentle floral fragrance and is perfect for a little loving self-care ritual during or after a bath.
