Suitable for all skin types including very dry or sensitive skin

Our Skin Saver Balm has been carefully developed to soothe dry, irritated, and itchy skin, providing targeted relief for conditions such as eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis. Designed to be suitable for all skin types, this all-natural balm is ideal for sensitive skin due to its carefully chosen ingredients like jojoba, calendula, chamomile and shea butter, which have exceptional calming, cooling, nourishing and healing properties. This potent blend can also serve as a gentle and nourishing daily moisturiser for application all over the body.

Jojoba oil

Jojoba oil is an excellent moisturising, nourishing and soothing remedy to the skin, promoting its natural suppleness and elasticity and addressing inflammation. It is naturally rich in antioxidants, which protect and soften the skin. The texture and consistency of jojoba oil is similar to the sebum naturally produced by your skin, so it leaves the skin nourished but with no greasy residue.

Coconut oil

Our cold-pressed, extra virgin coconut oil from Sri Lanka is moisturising and rich in skin-protecting antioxidants, including vitamin E, flavonoids and polyphenols. It is also deeply nourishing and protective. It naturally soothes any inflammation and helps prevent infections.

Castor oil

Our castor oil is organic, cold pressed and has anti-inflammatory, antifungal and moisturising properties. It creates a protective layer on the skin to prevent moisture loss.

Shea butter

Shea butter is deeply moisturising but it is also easily absorbed into the skin. It supports the skin’s natural healing process and boosts collagen production, resulting in smoother skin with fewer lines. Shea butter's anti-inflammatory qualities help to relieve itching and soothe inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. It also creates a protective layer on the skin.

Marshmallow root

Marshmallow root is a soothing, anti-inflammatory herb which gives a pleasant, soft texture to the balm. It is very gentle and softening on the skin. It can help alleviate  irritation and inflammation in the skin, for instance associated with acne, eczema, sore nipples, sunburn, burns, insect bites and even wasp and bee stings.

Liquorice root

Liquorice is very soothing and effective in reducing skin inflammation and irritation. It has well-researched anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral properties, and may help alleviate skin hyperpigmentation.

Comfrey root

Comfrey root is a powerful healer – it supports natural healing and regeneration processes throughout the skin’s layers and even deeper into muscles and bones. It is very soothing and provides relief from inflammation.

Red clover

With its deep roots, red clover draws significant quantities of vitamins, minerals and other elements from the soil, which makes it deeply remineralising. It also supports natural detoxification processes, which is often key to resolving skin complaints. It is often used externally to treat skin complaints including but not limited to eczema, acne rosacea, impetigo, urticaria, measles and psoriasis.

Mahonia

Mahonia or Oregon grape helps clear toxins, heat and inflammation. It is anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial, and is excellent in external applications to soothe boils, irritation and inflammation of the skin.

Calendula

Calendula is a gentle but powerful healer, widely used in any external herbal preparations to be applied on the skin. It is a natural antiseptic, so it can help prevent or support the body in dealing with infections, and it is also extremely gentle and soothing on the skin. It supports lymph flow, reduces congestion, enhances immune action and supports the natural elimination of toxins.. It is very helpful in easing symptoms associated with  eczema, rashes, and in supporting the skin to heal after breakouts such as acne, chicken pox and shingles.

Moringa leaf

Moringa is rich in minerals and antioxidants which nourish and protect the skin. It is naturally anti-inflammatory and promotes the skin’s elasticity.

Gotu kola

Gotu kola is a potent wound healing herb, making it useful across a variety of skin conditions. It increases collagen formation, improves blood flow to the skin and speeds up the healing process. It is useful for burns, bruises, redness, eczema and psoriasis. It may help control and minimise formation of scar tissue.

Sarsaparilla

Sarsaparilla,  known as a ‘blood purifier’ –  is antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and detoxifying. It is helpful for chronic skin disorders, especially eczema and psoriasis, and it relieves itching and dryness.

Lavender flowers and essential oil

A well-loved calming and relaxing herb, lavender is also a potent anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and skin healing herb. It is a great antiseptic for inflammatory and infective skin problems including eczema, acne, varicose ulcers and nappy rash. It stimulates tissue repair and minimises scar formation when applied to burns, cuts and wounds, sores and ulcers. It also relieves insect bites and stings, soothes bruises, sprains, gout, and reduces muscle tension.

Chamomile

The golden yellow flowerheads of chamomile alleviate inflammation and skin irritation, support the natural healing process, and soothe tension. In addition to its delightfully bright aroma, chamomile is a mild nervous system sedative, which means it can reduce irritability and tension. Research has shown that the anti-inflammatory constituents of chamomile are well absorbed when applied externally, and reach the deep layers of the skin. It helps to reduce skin redness, helps soothe inflamed and irritated skin conditions like eczema and acne, and may alleviate hyperpigmentation.

Neem

Neem is one of the best-known antiseptic and detoxifying herbs in traditional Ayurvedic medicine. It is helpful to support the body in combating  infection and for skin conditions characterised by heat and inflammation. It cools and soothes irritated and inflamed skin – making it excellent for conditions like eczema and psoriasis.

Candellilla wax

We use candelilla wax to thicken the balm into just the right consistency and texture for gently massaging onto the skin. Candellila wax is very similar to beeswax. We avoid using beeswax in order to offer fully plant-based balms. It is derived from the candelilla plant, which grows in the Chihuahuan desert in Mexico, providing livelihoods to local smallholder producers (“candelilleros”) who sustainably harvest the plant. Candelilla wax is soothing to the skin, does not block pores (making it safe for oily skin) and is naturally rich in beneficial vitamin A. The plant leaf is so full of wax that you can light it like a candle!

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin with potent antioxidant properties, which naturally helps preserve the balm for longer — in addition to its natural nourishing and cleansing properties.

This product contains jojoba oil, coconut oil, castor oil, shea butter, marshmallow root, liquorice, comfrey root, red clover, Oregon grape, calendula, moringa, gotu kola, sarsaparilla, oat straw, lavender, chamomile, neem, peppermint, candelilla wax, lavender essential oil and vitamin E.

  • As a daily body moisturiser: Apply the balm generously to your entire body after showering or bathing, when the skin is slightly damp. This helps to lock in moisture and nourish the skin throughout the day.
