Explore our selection below and take the first step towards a more balanced, flexible, and pain-free lifestyle!
For example, turmeric is a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. It is excellent to prevent and relieve joint and muscle pain, and to promote a speedy recovery where needed. It is also a great aid to digestion – particularly of protein and fats – and it helps assimilate protein and nutrients to nourish muscles.
Another example is meadowsweet. Rich in vitamin C, iron, calcium, magnesium and silica, meadowsweet is a marvellous herb for bone, ligament, joint and muscle health. Not only does it help eliminate toxins that may accumulate in joints and intensify inflammation but it has pain relieving properties too, thanks to its high salicylic acid content — the molecule from which aspirin was synthesised.
Yet another great herb for joint and muscle health is nettle. Nettle leaves have a rich, earthy, deep flavour. They are particularly nourishing – they are rich in vitamins A and C and minerals, particularly iron, calcium, silica, magnesium and potassium. All of these nutrients are essential for the maintenance of vibrant health and vitality. Nettle is also a mild diuretic that gently stimulates liver and kidney function, helping to eliminate toxins via the urine and supporting healthy, flexible joints and muscles.
All three of these (and more!) are in our Joint and Muscle Tea. This herbal blend has been developed to promote fluidity and ease of movement. It contains potent but gentle anti-inflammatory and pain-killing herbs that combat aches and pains related to mobility, whether due to overexertion or injury. This tea is warming, comforting, and ideal for soothing inflammation and promoting general joint and muscle health.
These capsules contain only herbs, which are just dried and reduced into a powder to fit into a plant-based capsule. They are 100% natural and do not contain any preservatives, fillers, thickeners or any other ingredients. The capsules are plant-based, so these supplements are entirely suitable for vegans.

You can add some more fresh or dried turmeric root into recipes in your day-to-day life, or take some as a supplement (for example in our Turmeric Supplements, or as part of a blend in our Joint and Muscle Supplements). You can also drink it as a part of a herbal tea blend like our Joint and Muscle Tea.
For example, Saint John’s wort is a potent ally for the nervous system when applied topically to the skin. St. John’s wort oil is also a dependable friend for sore muscles, sprains and strains, bruises, and bumps. St. John’s wort is beneficial for all nerve discomfort and muscle tissue pain. This herb is a good match for sensitive areas of the body where there is an abundance of nerve endings, such as the fingertips, toes, spine, and eyes. A restorative to the nervous system, St. John’s wort has the remarkable ability to rejuvenate and reawaken damaged nerve endings that have suffered as the result of acute trauma or chronic discomfort. The herb speeds the body’s natural ability to reduce swelling and repair tissues where there is inflammation or irritation.
Saint John’s wort is one of the herbs that are infused in our Joint and Muscle Balm. This is a tried and tested formula that offers soothing support for muscle, joint aches, strains and pain. It’s ideal for after exercising, to ease any stiffness, to heal bruises, and to alleviate longer-term discomfort in muscles or joints. In addition to Saint John's wort, it includes comfrey, marshmallow root and essential oils of cajeput and pine. The dried herbs are heated gently in extra virgin olive oil in our apothecary to extract their beneficial properties. After straining the infused oil, we add candelilla wax and blend in the essential oils. We also carry the same balm with added cannabidiol (CBD), our Joint and Muscle Balm with CBD, for extra potency to ease higher levels of aches and pains. Our Mahanarayan Oil is another really effective Ayurvedic recipe that promotes joint and muscle health.
For an even more effective approach, you can use external herbal preparations in conjunction with internal herbs — in herbal teas or supplements for example. Consider our Joint and Muscle tea or our Joint and Muscle Supplements!
For example you can use it after a long day of work, or after an intense workout, or when you’re feeling tense during colder, drier months, if your back hurts, or if your body is feeling stiff after a few months of not exercising so much for example. It’s brilliant to lubricate, enliven and soften your tissues so you can stretch and move easily and do everything that you love!
To use it, you can pop a few drops of the oil in the palm of your hands and massage onto different parts of your body as and when needed – for example on an achy wrist, a tight muscle, or any areas of your back that feel stiff and painful. Not only does it ease any soreness and tension, but it also improves blood circulation, reduces inflammation, it helps with the elimination of toxins from the tissues, and it has a relaxing effect on the nervous system as well. Mahanarayan oil has also been used as a general warming and soothing body massage oil in traditional Ayurvedic medicine on a more subtle level to balance your doshas – especially to balance Vata, the dosha responsible for energy and movement.
It’s made with an amazing range of synergistic herbal ingredients that are soothing, warming, anti-inflammatory, relaxing and painkilling, and that work really well in combination, making the whole more than the sum of its parts. To name a few, the blend has sesame oil, ashwagandha, ginger, turmeric, tulsi or holy basil, valerian. In Sanskrit, Maha means great, and Narayan refers to a higher being, or deity – this oil is a great being in itself, with all of the ingredients in it playing their part to perform wonders on the human body.
One of the many ingredients in this mix is mucuna: a nourishing tonic which naturally helps build muscles. It is a powerful antioxidant, hormone balancer and mood booster. It reduces muscle tension and cramps and promotes physical and mental performance.
Frankincense is a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory pain reliever. It helps speed muscle and joint recovery after exercise. It also relieves muscle spasm and soothes any muscle and joint strains and sprains. It helps open up the lungs, encouraging deeper breathing to improve athletic performance.
Celery seed is a diuretic, so it increases and enhances urine flow and assists your body in getting rid of metabolic waste. This can improve joint health and reduce excess fluid and swelling around the joints as well as unwanted movement, like nervous restlessness and muscle spasms.

Singing nettle is another fantastic ally to promote easy and flexible movement in your joints and muscles. Nettle leaves have a rich, earthy, deep flavour. All of the herbs above can be found either in our Joint and Muscle Supplements or in our Joint and Muscle tea – or both!

Our Mahanarayan oil follows an ancient Ayurvedic recipe that’s been used for thousands of years to soothe stiff, achy, tense joints and muscles and to help the body to move more freely and comfortably. You can simply put a few drops of the oil in the palm of your hands and massage onto the hurting areas of your knee and/or back. It will help ease any soreness and tension, but also improve blood circulation, reduce inflammation. The oil also supports the elimination of toxins from the tissues, and has a relaxing effect on the nervous system.
You can also use our Joint and Muscle balm – with or without CBD – which combines Saint John’s wort, comfrey, marshmallow root and essential oils of cajeput and pine to ease aches and pains, stiffness, tension and discomfort in your joints and muscles. It can also be very helpful to ease knee and back pain, and it is a versatile formula that can also be used for injuries like torn ligaments, strains, arthritis and tendonitis. It speeds healing and reduces bruising. This balm has a thicker texture and a fresher fragrance than the Mahanarayan oil. Go for the version with added CBD if you are looking for a higher level of pain killing properties.
Both the balms and the Mahanarayan oil help to soothe, nourish and soften the skin, easing any irritation, and they can help you to bring relief and comfort to aching backs and knees.
It is very helpful to ease pain and discomfort or sensitive areas of the body where there is an abundance of nerve endings, such as the fingertips, toes, spine, and eyes. Acute, searing, or pointed pain that feels discernibly sharp and shooting benefits from a massage with Saint John’s wort oil.
In particular, topical St. John’s wort is well suited to easing sciatica (pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve, which branches from your lower back through your hips and buttocks and down each leg) – particularly when associated with wintergreen essential oil –, as well as rheumatism, fibromyalgia, and any variety of neuralgias.
Saint John’s wort oil and wintergreen essential oil are key ingredients in our Nerve oil: a soothing blend of herbal extracts and essential oils designed to ease nerve pain and the numbness, swelling and tingling sensations that often accompany it. Although it can help bring relief to any kind of nerve pain, our Nerve oil has been formulated with particular attention to alleviating sciatica. It combines anti-inflammatory, pain-killing, antispasmodic, circulation-boosting and healing properties to bring comfort and relief.
