Eucalyptus
Eucalyptus leaves are a time-honoured remedy for respiratory issues. This potent herb offers powerful antiseptic properties and a refreshing menthol-like effect, clearing the respiratory tract, easing breathing, and soothing sore throats.
Mullein
Mullein is a traditional herbal remedy prized for its ability to alleviate respiratory conditions. Known for its expectorant properties, it helps to loosen and expel mucus from the lungs, providing relief for coughs and congestion. Its high mucilage content also contributes a demulcent quality, moistening the mucous membranes and adding an extra layer of comfort to your sore throat.
Peppermint
Peppermint is more than just a refreshing herb. Its natural menthol content has a soothing effect on the throat, helping to reduce irritation and dryness. Additionally, peppermint is a natural antimicrobial, capable of warding off pathogens that contribute to illness.
Icelandic Moss
Icelandic moss is a lichen traditionally used for its soothing and antiseptic properties. Rich in polysaccharides, it forms a protective layer on the throat's mucous membranes, alleviating dryness and irritation. Its soothing and moistening effects can be particularly beneficial in relieving dry and scratchy throats.
Marshmallow Leaves
Marshmallow leaves have been used for centuries to relieve coughs and sore throats. The mucilage content in these leaves forms a soothing coating that reduces throat irritation and inflammation. Additionally, these leaves are recognized for their demulcent nature, promoting moisture in the throat, which further eases discomfort and assists in speeding up the recovery process.
Liquorice Root
Liquorice root is known for its sweet flavour and its myriad health benefits. It soothes the throat, reduces inflammation, and helps to break down mucus, providing relief for coughs and congestion.
Sage
Sage has been used for centuries for its antiseptic properties. It soothes sore throats and reduces inflammation, making it a valuable herb in the management of throat discomfort and respiratory ailments.

To enhance the efficacy of our Throat Therapy Tea:
-
Stay Hydrated: Drinking warm herbal tea or water helps maintain the throat's moisture, aiding in relief and recuperation.
-
Maintain Humidity: Using a humidifier can help to keep the air in your living space moist, particularly in dry conditions or during winter. Moist air can ease throat irritation and coughing.
-
Avoid Caffeine: Caffeine can dehydrate the body. Opt for caffeine-free beverages when you're experiencing throat issues to ensure you stay hydrated.
-
Regular Salt Gargling: Gargling with warm salt water can aid in reducing inflammation and tackling bacteria. It's a timeless remedy to cleanse the throat and offer relief.
-
Limit Cold Beverages and Foods: Cold temperatures can sometimes aggravate throat discomfort. Opt for warm or room-temperature drinks and foods when you're feeling particularly sore or sensitive.
-
Dietary Choices: Favour foods with soothing properties, like honey, warm oatmeal, ginger, and broths and creamy soups to assist in healing. For some, dairy can thicken mucus and further irritate the throat. It's best to minimise or avoid dairy products like milk, yoghurt, and cheese when experiencing throat issues.
-
Avoid Irritants: Refrain from smoking, excessive alcohol, and spicy foods which can exacerbate throat discomfort.
-
Mindful Breathing: Practising mindful breathing or engaging in light throat exercises can help to relax the throat muscles and improve blood circulation.
-
Scarves and Warm Wraps: Keeping your neck and throat area warm, especially in colder conditions, can minimise exposure and soothe discomfort.
-
Rest Your Voice: Limit vocal strain by avoiding shouting or extensive talking when experiencing discomfort.
