Shatavari
Shatavari is said to translate as “she who possesses a hundred husbands” in Sanskrit: it is the most important rejuvenative tonic for women in Ayurvedic medicine. It is cooling, soothing, moistening and restores balance when body and mind are overheated and depleted. It has a calming effect and helps to regulate hormonal imbalances, with particular effectiveness during menopause.
Lady’s mantle
Known throughout Western herbal medicine history as a powerful female reproductive tonic and wound healer, lady’s mantle helps to tone and strengthen the pelvic floor and uterus. It also contributes to hormonal balance, reduces vaginal discharge, eases irritation and promotes a healthy vaginal flora – all of which are wonderfully supportive through the menopause.
Rose
Beautiful in both look and smell, rose is wonderful for relieving irritability and lifting the spirits. Rose decongests, soothes and tones the reproductive system. Its cooling effect is particularly beneficial for easing menopausal hot flushes and night sweats, and it also promotes emotional balance, calming mood swings. It promotes healthy, restful sleep, supports digestive health, relieves nausea and promotes a healthy gut flora. It modulates inflammation and has a mild diuretic and antiseptic action, helping to ease symptoms associated with urinary tract infections and fluid retention.
Hawthorn berry
Hawthorn is excellent for the heart and circulation. It improves blood flow through the heart and arteries and can help to regulate heart pressure. During menopause, it is very helpful for night sweats and hot flushes. It also modulates harmful cholesterol and strengthens and protects the heart muscle. Hawthorn berries are also packed full of antioxidants which help protect joints and muscles.
Linden flowers
Linden flowers are wonderfully soothing and mildly sedative. They can help to ease tension,restlessness and agitation — all of which can accompany menopausal symptoms. Linden promotes healthy blood pressure and protects blood vessel walls. It has a cooling effect on hot flushes and night sweats.
Motherwort
Motherwort is best known for its beneficial properties for women’s health, especially for menopausal women. It can help to gently balance blood pressure and soothes hot flushes and mood swings which may accompany menopause.
Spearmint
Spearmint tastes wonderfully uplifting and cooling — it is great to gently soothe hot flushes and to settle upset stomachs. It can help to alleviate spasms and digestive discomfort. It also supports the liver in its natural cleansing actions and can help soothe tension.

When to drink
We recommend drinking 2 cups of this tea per day: 1 cup of tea with or after breakfast and 1 cup after lunch or dinner.
How often to drink
You can drink this tea daily, up to 3 cups per day.
How to make
Infuse one teaspoon of loose herbs in a cup of boiled water. Leave for 10-15 minutes, strain, cool and enjoy. We recommend covering the tea while it brews to ensure maximum potency and flavour. You can infuse the same serving of herbs twice in boiling water to make a second cup.
